Legal Rights and Responsibilities in California CCRCs

Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) are an important component of the national senior living market, with a history in California spanning more than three decades.

This program includes discussion of the challenges and an examination of California regulations and laws that affect CCRCs with a special focus on the rights and responsibilities of residents.

This program includes presentations by multiple stakeholders, including residents, providers, regulators, legislators, and financing experts. Issues include how to handle “entrance fee” models, whether residents can and should have voting rights on governing boards, and how to address rising costs, particularly among affi liated communities, whether the organizations are for-profit or not-for-profit.
